Manufacturing Meridian® Solid Surface

When it comes to solid surface, you can choose from many options. But not all solid surface materials are the same. Look beneath the surface and see how our manufacturing process and resulting products are superior to other options on the market.

Meridian® Solid Surface is 100% Solid

Many companies claim to be solid surface, but only Meridian® is 100% solid. Other “solid surface” products are made of fiber-impregnated, compression-molded or surface-coated materials. Over time, they break down, creating vulnerable areas where water can infiltrate, potentially causing structural damage. Meridian® Solid Surface is manufactured in one-piece cast units that are void of seams, joints and other possible failure points.

Mask Group 7

Designed for extreme durability, Meridian® Solid Surface starts as a blend of strong polymer resins, mineral fillers and pigments. This combination of materials creates a surface that is resistant to scratches, heat and stains.

Mask Group 7

Meridian® Solid Surface starts in a liquid state that is brought to a controlled temperature and poured into a standard or custom form, based on the customer’s shape and size requests. This is different from other materials, such as stone or tile, which must be cut and then pieced together. The ability to create custom shower bases, wall panels and countertops is particularly helpful for institutions of size, including health care, hospitality, higher education, multi-family, public housing, military and government projects.

The resulting mixture is then cured for a period of time until it solidifies into a material that will last for years with minimal maintenance. A completely homogenous product like Meridian® is also highly sanitary. Since there are no joints or seams, there is no risk of mold or bacteria growth. It is extremely easy to clean and maintain, requiring only a soft cloth and warm, soapy water.

After it is removed, the product moves through our fabrication and finishing departments to be produced to the client’s specifications. The parts are inspected for quality assurance then packaged for shipment.
